May 22, 2020 marks the First International Menstrual Offering Day, birthed in Mexico by Jimena Chalchi and Ana Gabriela Robles from CycleBloom, and the Red Tent Movement in Mexico.

Behind this exciting initiative there is an evolving story! A story about the surprising ways in which things grow – in the moment – out of collaboration.

Ana Gabriela invited me to be interviewed in preparation for the Menstrual Offering day. It was exciting but I didn’t anticipate all that followed…

First, Zoom didn’t cooperate, and we had to annonce to all who were expecting to see us Live on facebook — that we will have to pre-record the interview and air it later, since the Live Streaming wasn’t working.

This put us both in Surrender. We had to let go of the plan, Surrender to what IS, and navigate the moment in a new, un-planned way.

We begun sailing into the interview, discussing the cutting edge invitation to women in these extraordinary times to “plant” our menstrual blood in the Earth, offer it on the New Moon: May 22, 2020, at Dawn, each in her own time zone around the world.

Since both Ana Gabriela and I no longer bleed, Ana Gabriela mentioned the wisdom of the Grandmothers, who suggested that women who Hold their Blood and Magic Within (as Indiginous People refer to Menopause women) – will offer a Lock of Hair to the Earth, which, like Menstrual Blood, carries our DNA signature.

I was deeply touched by this suggestion, which meant that I can participate in the Global Offering even though I am beyond my Cyclical years. This brought to mind my dear Lakota Woman friend, who was taught by her Granmother:
“When you have nothing to offer the Earth: no cornmeal, no tobbaco, you always have your Spit!”

Our spit, like our Menstrual Blood and our Hair, carries our Unique DNA signature. I have offered my saliva to the Earth on many occasions, in many countries, in moments of deep gratitude, when all I had to offer was myself. And indeed, not much else is ever needed.

This invitation wasn’t planned. It came form a moment in our conversation. Yet much more was to come… We continued the interview as an idea emerged: our offering to the Earth is a Seed we plant in Her Womb…

And then an insight struck:

Lets meet again 9 months later, at the time of Birth!

It will become our sacred responsibility to Nurture this pregnancy, to foster what we plant in the Earth on May 22, 2020 – and bring it to fruition!

Let’s check-in after each trimester:

The first trimester will bring us to the New Moon in August.

The second trimester will land us in November, when International Red Tent Day is marked Worldwide: a celebration that was birthed during a Vision Circle we hald on my first teaching tour to Mexico City in 2015.

The completion of the third trimester, the actual Birth, will happen in February: the month dedicated to the Celtic Goddess Brigid, the time in which the Norhtern Hemysphere celebrates the renewal of nature, the return of the light, the first stirrings of life after the cold of winter!

This plan didn’t exist when we begun the interview. None of us expected it.
Yet here it was: born out of being with each other, in the moment, listening inwardly, and drawing inspiration form our Womb and Heart.

This is my offering this morning. Since I no longer bleed, I offered clippings of my hair, nails, and my saliva, all carrying DNA signature, all carried my prayers and blessings.

Mauo 22, 2020 es el dia del Primea Ofrenda Menstrual Mundial, por Jimena Chalchi y Ana Gabriela Robles de CycleBloom y el Movimiento de Carpas Rojas en México.
Tras esta emocionante iniciativa hay una historia que evoluciona. Una historia sobre las maneras sorprendente en la que las cosas crecen, en el momento, a partir de la colaboración. Ana Gabriela me invitó a una entrevista en preparación para el dia de la Ofrenda Menstrual Mundial. Fue muy emocionante pro no al estaba anticipando lo que sucedió…

Al principio Zoom no coopero, y tuvimos que anunciar a quienes estaban esperando vernos en vivo a través de FB libe que estaríamos pre grabando la entrevista y la transmitiremos mas tarde por que la transmisión en vivo no estaba funcionando.
Poniéndonos en un estado de rendición, tuvimos que fluir con el plan. En profunda rendición navegamos el momento en esta nueva manera sin plan previo.
Iniciamos navegando la entrevistada, platicamos sobre la pertinencia de la invitar a las mujeres en estos tiempos extraordinarios a #plantar” nuestra sangre menstrual en la Tierra, ofreciéndola en la Luna Nueva el 22 de mayo, al amanecer, cada quien en su zona horaria.
Como nosotras, ni Ana Gabriela ni yo menstruamos, ella me compartió la sabiduría de las Abuelas que sugieren que las mujeres que Sostienen su Sangre y Magia Internamente (como algunas culturas originarias hacen referencia a las mujeres Menopáusicas) – ofrezcan un trozo de su Pelo a la Tierra, que, como la Sangre menstrual contiene nuestro ADN.
Esta sugerencia me conmovió profundamente, esto significa que yo puedo participar en la Ofrenda Global aunque ya estoy mas allá de mis dias Cíclicos. Esto me trajo a la memoria a mi querida amiga Lakota, que fue instruida por su Abuela: “Cuanod no tienes nada que ofrecer a la Tierra, nada de harina de Maíz ni tabaco, siempre tienes tu saliva.”
Muestra saliva, como nuestra Sangre Menstrual y nuestro pelo, tiene nuestra firma única de ADN. Yo he ofrendado mi saliva a la Tierra en muchas ocasiones, en muchos países, en momentos de gran gratitud, cuando lo único que tuve que ofrendar era yo misma.
Esta invitación no estaba planeada. Vino de un momento en nuestra conversación. Pero aun habia mucho más que estaba por venir… Continuamos la entrevista y una idea emergió: nuestra ofrenda a la Tierra es una Semilla que plantaremos en su Vientre… Y despues tuve una revelación: reunámonos nuevamente dentro de 9 meses, al momento de su Nacimiento.
Se convertirá en nuestra responsabilidad sagrada Nutrir este embarazo, el cuidar de aquello que plantamos en la Tierra el 22 de mayo 2020 – y traerlo a buen término.
Revisemos como avanza cada trimestre: El primer trimestre nos lleva a la luna nueva de agosto.
El segundo trimestre nos llevara a noviembre, cuando sucede el Dia Internacional de la Carpa Roja. Una celebración que nació durante un Círculo de Visión cuando di mi primera gira de enseñanza en la Ciudad de México en 2015.
El tercer trimestre se completa, y el Parto estará sucediendo en febrero; el mes dedicado a la Brigida la Diosa Celta, el tiempo en el que en el hemisferio norte se celebra la renovación de la naturaleza, el regreso de la luz, los primeros brotes de luz despues del frio invierno.

Este plan no existía cuando comenzamos la entrevista. Ninguna de las dos lo estaba esperando. Aun asi aquí estaba: naciendo de estar juntas, en el momento, escuchando internamente, y tomando inspiración de nuestro Útero y Corazón. Que siempre podamos escuchar.
